When I was 6 years old, my mother handed me her Kodak Duoflex to snap a picture of our family. I was hooked. Photography became not just a creative outlet, but a source of mystical wonder and magic. After all, light travels 93,000,000 miles from the sun to form an image on a piece of plastic in my hand. What else could it be?
I'm interested in everything and everyone, and photograph a variety of subjects. I work to allow my images to communicate what I felt at the time I clicked the shutter. Sometimes, this is shown best in shades of gray, removing distractions that color may bring, and emphasizing light and form. At other times, color supersedes form, and color becomes the photograph. I find beauty in everything I see and in in every season, finding beauty, from the complexity of tiniest flower to the bold lines of a snowy Carpathian mountainside.
